Alke Brinkmanns aktuelle Arbeiten sind inspiriert von ihrem Biologiestudium an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Sie hat eine neue Art der Landschaftsmalerei entwickelt, in der sie wissenschaftliche Modelle und Bilder miteinbezieht und sich mit historischen Postionen auseinandersetzt. Ihre aktuellen Bilder entstehen mit verschiedenen Techniken auf Holz. Dessen Maserung wird Teil des Gemäldes und inspiriert die scheinbar abstrakte Komposition

Alke Brinkmanns work is inspired by her study of biology at the Humboldt- University of Berlin. She has developed a new type of landscape painting by incorporating scientific models and images as well as art-historical references. Her current work is painted on wood. The structure of the wood becomes part of the painting and inspires the abstract composition.
